Survey Sunday Spotlight: Opinion Outpost

So, I'm a bit excited.  I'm one of those people who love doing surveys so much that I am a member of at least 20 different sites (probably more, we'll find out eventually right?).  So I decided to start Survey Sunday Spotlight.  And I decided to start it off with one of my all-time favorite survey sites, Opinion Outpost.

What's so special about Opinion Outpost you ask?  Well for one, they are one of the few that have remained on my top surveys list for almost 6 years.  While they have changed the look and the rewards a few times, I am still very pleased with how they still run.

The types of surveys you can find on Opinion Outpost are varied.  They will give you anything from quick 1-5 minute surveys worth anywhere from a prize draw entry for their sweepstakes up to 10 points for the shorter surveys.  Longer surveys are worth anywhere from a prize draw entry and up.  The most I have ever gotten for a survey to this date was 50 points (although I am sure they have higher amounts available, I just personally don't qualify for them lol).  Some of the shorter surveys are actually pre-qualifications for product trials, and the follow up surveys will give you even more points after the trial.  Free points for trying free products.. free points that can be turned into cash if you so wish.  Which leads me to the next part of this post.

Rewards.  While Opinion Outpost does not have very many rewards, I still say they are the best for a few reasons.  One, even for someone like me who will sit here all day long doing survey after survey only to be told I'm disqualified from all but maybe 3 or 4, I still manage to cash out with them at least once a month, sometimes more.  It really all depends on how much effort I decide to put into it.  Two, their minimum cash out amounts aren't ridiculous like a lot of other sites I'm with.  A $5 AGC (or Amazon.com gift code) is 50 points.  $10 PayPal cash is 100 points.  If you prefer food, they have Restaurant.com gift cards starting at $10 or 100 points.  Also they have iTunes gift cards, Alawar games online (for anyone who actually knows what that is.  I personally do not, sorry.), and an American Red Cross donation option.  Like I said, not many rewards, but by far some of the best prices I have found for prize redemptions.

Like I've said before, I can usually cash out with Opinion Oupost at least once a month when I'm being lazy. If I really put my mind to it and decide to do nothing else but surveys all day every day and neglect my family then I, myself, could probably cash out 10x that amount.  I also tend to get disqualified from a lot of surveys because most survey companies tend to not like an engaged stay at home white mom of 2 kids under the age of 10 with an income under $20,000/year.  Even with those demographics, though, I do still get a lot of surveys through them, so never ever let your demographics get in the way of you making a bit of money here and there.  I certainly havent!

Lastly, their customer service.  If you want them to actually answer you, your best bet would be to email them, but they do have a Facebook page that they monitor.  If you choose to go the Facebook route (darn addicts lol ... JUST KIDDING), be prepared to think that their settings are messed up.  You can post but they have to approve each non-moderator post before it shows up.  So if you post something after hours on a Friday, you will not even see it on their page until sometime Monday.

For anyone outside of the U.S., sorry.  As far as I can tell, Opinion Outpost is only open to U.S. residents.  If anyone knows different PLEASE feel free to correct me.

Now for the best part.  I've decided, based on my personal opinions, to rate each of the survey sites I use on a 10 point scale, with 1 being beyond horrible, and 10 being the best out there.

My rating of Opinion Outpost: 9/10 ... I wonder if there is a survey company that I'm with that is a solid 10? You'll just have to keep coming back every Sunday to find out!
